CALENDAR for CHILDREN’S SACRAMENTS

Information & Registration Sessions

Parents are asked to attend one of these Sessions on Wednesday 3rd / Thursday 4th February in Shrubland Hall at 1.30pm and 7.00pm. Parents will be invited to select optional dates and times for Sacraments. Where numbers for a liturgy are excessive, there will be a random selection from a hat.  We hope to advise all Parents of chosen dates by the end of February.

After much planning and consideration, we have implemented an integrated Parish Based Children’s Sacrament Programme this year.  All Families presenting children as Candidates for Sacraments at St Brigid's Parish whether they attend St Brigid’s School, local state schools, or private schools, will participate in this common programme.  The curriculum will provide resources for families to prepare for the Sacraments together, supported by the school curriculum.  The Calendar for these Programmes is outlined below.

Children’s Sacrament Co-ordinator

To assist in the smooth development of this Parish Based approach to Children’s Sacraments, Michelle Reynolds has agreed to a change in her job description, so that her main role will be co-ordinating these Sacraments and the Baptism Preparation Programme.  I thank her for agreeing to this. 

Over the coming few months, Michelle has been asked to form a new Children’s Ministry Team from across the School and the Parish.  Hopefully this will also see new ways of the Parish and School working together more.
