Welcome to the Catholic Parish of St. Brigid's, Marrickville

Communion and Anointing of the Sick

At each Sunday Eucharist, in the Prayers of the Faithful, we pray for those who are ill and we record their names in our Parish Bulletin.

Please inform the Parish if you would like your name included in these prayers. If you wish to have the name of someone other than yourself included, confidentiality laws now require that you have their permission to do so.

A group of parishioners take communion every week to the elderly and house bound and to the nursing homes of the parish. Should you or another desire communion, please inform the Parish Secretary who will organize for your inclusion among those to be visited. Once a month a priest will accompany the minister to provide the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.

If you or someone you care for needs the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick please contact the Parish Office.

Our secretary will organize for a priest to come to your home. If it is an emergency and after hours, our answering service will give you the emergency number to call for a priest.

If the person is in hospital, most larger hospitals have a Catholic Chaplain appointed whom the staff will contact if you ask them.

However we visit our parishioners in most of the major hospitals. Please ensure the parish is informed.
