Welcome to the Catholic Parish of St. Brigid's, Marrickville

  Fr. Raffaele Tresca cp

Assistant Priest and Italian Chaplain

Padre has nurtured and cared for the Italian community through four generations, baptizing the great grandchildren of couples he married.  With the help of his Italian Committee Padre has developed the Good Friday Procession of the Dead Christ  attracting thousands of worshippers each Good Friday evening. In 2007 we celebrate the 40th year of this event.

Padre’s Christmas Crib is a byword in Sydney, also attracting thousands of people who bring their children to see this magnificent portrayal of the birth of Jesus.

Padre Raffaele passed away on 9th October, 2010. Vale Padre, may he rest in peace.
