ST BRIGID’S ADULT FAITH FORMATION COMMITTEE
Our Aim: to grow our Christian faith. Being about spirituality,
Adult Faith Formation is a core ministry of any
church community.
The Adult Faith Formation Committee at St
Brigid’s seeks to support individuals in their personal
faith, and to assist them in furthering their faith journey
and deepening their commitment.

Thus, people have been (and continue to be) offered
opportunities to grow and learn together by:
• discovering new ways of praying;
• studying and sharing Scripture;
• participating in Retreats & Reflection Times, Outreach/
Pilgrimage activities.
In 2010-2011 AFFC has offered the St Brigid’s Parish
community the following faith formation opportunities:
• the Little Rock Bible Study program: Acts of the Apostles, August–November 2010; the Passion
narrative in the 4 gospels March-April 2011; the
Infancy narrative November-December 2011;
• general retreats/reflection days: 1 day retreats
in June and December 2010;
• preparation for the introduction of the New
Roman Missal: three Saturday of formation with
the local cluster of Parishes;
• targeted retreats: the Men Alive program, August
2011;
• formation of ministers of Holy Communion,
May-June 2011;
• formation in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, October
2011.
The Adult Faith Formation Committee meets
monthly on the second Tuesday, at 7.15pm in the Parish
Centre. Anyone interested in joining this ministry is very
welcome.

CHILDREN’S LITURGIES
The 8.45am Mass is designed to incorporate
young families into the worship of the Church.
First, Third and Fifth Sunday of the month
we have Children’s Liturgy of the Word
in the Annexe behind the Church at 8.45am.
On the Second Sunday of the month,
these assist at Mass as readers and prayer leaders.
On the fourth Sunday of the Month,
a year level from St Brigid’s School leads us at Mass. Parents interested in introducing their younger children of school age into the Liturgy of the Church are invited to come to the Annexe with them for a few times, and
also to assist. We assemble on the Church porch.

COMMUNITY MENTORING PROGRAMME
Interested in helping a young person with guidance, support and encouragement?
Rosemount Good Shepherd Youth & Family Services, Marrickville, is the location of a new community based Mentoring Programme for young people at risk. The mentor is not a replacement parent, nor a counselor or teacher; the aim is to help a young person seeking additional assistance to fulfill his or her potential. Training, assistance and support are provided and require only a small amount of time out of your weekly schedule. If interested in finding out more about this worthwhile programme, please contact the Co-ordinator, Peta Croker, on 8571 7811 OR e-mail: trinitysteacher@rosemountgs.org.au

CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDER’S COMPOUND
School refurbishment means that a compound will be constructed across the front lawn before the Shrine.
Please be patient for the estimated 10 months of work, especially with school drop off and pick up, and using the car park. The Lawn will be restored at the end of the Project.

BECOMING CATHOLIC (RCIA)
It is time to start the new Season of the RCIA. Through the Journey to Easter, adults are invited to explore their relationship with God, and to come to an adult decision to seek Baptism (if not already Baptised), Confirmation and Communion. If suitable we will start the Period of Inquiry on Sundays at 10am in the Parish Centre. Please contact the
Parish Office with info or inquirers.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT MASS
Are you looking for a mid-week quieter Mass?
The Wednesday Night Mass
is at 7pm and is in the Pieta Chapel.
It’s time was changed so that we
are able to attend before the
7.30pm parish meetings.

NEW PUBLIC HOLIDAY MASS TIME
The Pastoral Council has reviewed the
Public Holiday Mass time and agreed to a
request that it be held at 9am and
not 7.30am as previously. This will be helpful on
days like Anzac Day allowing people coming back from the Dawn Service to join us for Mass.
