	Becoming a Minister		Among the many ministries available are the following:
			Choirs Ushers/Collectors Money Counters Servers and Acolytes Lectors and Commentators Extraordinary Ministers of Communion Ministers of Communion to the sick and housebound St. Vincent de Paul Society Hospital Visitation Parish Pastoral Council Gardens, Building and maintenance Catechetics in Government Schools Sunday Sacramental Teachers Sunday Children’s Liturgy Compeer – visiting the mentally handicapped Birthday Bus – Monthly visits to provide entertainment to nursing homes Bus Drivers for the elderly - Saturday Mass Chauffeurs for the elderly for weekend masses Altar Society – linen, flowers, cleaning Boarding House parties – Easter and Christmas gatherings for those in boarding houses
	A strength of St. Brigid's has always been the generous involvement of parishioners in countless ministries in the parish. Since our very first days parishioners have given of their time and their talents to build up the parish. At present over 400 people are involved in voluntary ministries. These ministries are coordinated by a Director of Ministries whose task is to ensure that people are able to get involved according to their abilities. It is important that people are given the appropriate preparation they need, that they have the resources necessary for their ministry, that they are safeguarded legally and protected against injury.
