The Passionist Founder, St. Paul of
the Cross, gathered companions together, people who shared his vision of
the Gospel of the Passion, people who found in the cross of Jesus the
most overwhelming sign of God’s love. This Passionist spirit is
shared not only by the religious themselves but also by many lay men and
women who live the Passionist charism in their homes, families, jobs,
relationships and parishes.
The Passionist Companions is an
association of those who share the Passionist spirit. Their way of life, rich variety of backgrounds, interests and experiences, training and viewpoints are sources of strength in the Passionist way of proclaiming the Gospel of the Passion. They meet
together every two months. During this time they learn more about
the spirit of Paul of the Cross and the Passionists, share reflection
and prayer time together and generally have a lot of fun.
People can ask to join the
Companions or be invited to do so. Groups of Passionist Companions
are springing up around many of our Passionist monasteries, parishes and
around the convents of our Passionist Sisters.
