A parishioner writes ...
"The Birthday Bus leaves from outside Shrubland Hall at 1.50pm on the third Saturday of every month. It goes to one or two nursing homes and returns at about 4pm.
We entertain the residents of the nursing homes by singing the old songs they know so well (much better than we do that's for sure but we are learning fast!). There are song books provided so you will soon learn the words.
It is so much fun. I cannot sing and you don't need to be able to sing either to join us on the Birthday Bus.

All it takes is the willingness to give up a little time to spread some joy and you will come away feeling so happy because the music and singing and the smiles on the residents' faces will make you feel that way.
Even if you can't make it every month, you may be able to make it every second month or quarterly. Why not come along on our next trip on 15th December and see what it is like!'
